Strength is never a weakness

The trick to getting strong is practice. It's the ever so boring combination of technique plus experience. That's what allows you to do things better. In the gym, how that translates is the weights move faster and easier.

Something else happens as you get stronger. You start to trust yourself. Strength is trust that you can move the weights, strength is the trust that gives you the confidence to add more weight. Strength is trust in yourself to keep going.

When you don't have trust you panic. Panic takes you off the plan. It takes you away from what you practiced. Panic leads to hesitation, hesitation leads to injuries.

The same is true as you build your startup. Strength is never a weakness; Trust is never a weakness. It's the foundation that every great team is built off and every great company is built off of a great team. It's not just a platitude, it's a necessity.

Trust is the unspoken confidence that each member of your team can deliver in their role. It's the trust in each other, that if you need help you won't hesitate to ask. This is the foundation that allows for collective innovation, risk-taking, and growth. The absence of trust in a business, is just like in the gym, it creates panic, it takes you off the plan. This is what kills progress and pollutes the team cohesion.

And now we're seeing these same principles play out in the AI revolution. The strongest AI implementations aren't just about raw computational power – they're built on trust. Trust in the data, trust in the models, and trust between humans and machines. Companies that rush to implement AI without building this foundation of trust often panic when things go sideways, abandoning best practices and reverting to old habits.

Just like in weightlifting, getting strong with AI requires consistent practice, good technique, and the patience to build experience over time. The organizations thriving with AI aren't those with the flashiest tools, but those who've built the strength to use them properly and the trust to know when to push harder or pull back.

Trust in each other, trust in the process, trust in thoughtful innovation. Stay strong.
